Our Marine CO₂ fire extinguishers provide fast and effective protection against Class B fires involving flammable liquids and are especially safe for use on electrical equipment. Using carbon dioxide gas, they quickly smother flames without leaving residue, making them ideal for protecting sensitive equipment on boats, ships, and coastal facilities.
Built with a corrosion-resistant finish and approved for marine use, these extinguishers are designed to withstand harsh salt and moisture conditions at sea. Lightweight, easy to operate, and compliant with both British Standards and marine safety regulations, they deliver reliable fire protection while keeping onboard equipment and interiors clean and undamaged.

HOW TO USE
How to Use a CO₂ Fire Extinguisher
- Pull the safety pin to break the seal.
- Aim the discharge horn at the base of the fire.
- For electrical fires, aim directly at the source of the flames.
- Squeeze the handle to release the CO₂ gas.
- Sweep the horn side to side until the fire is fully out.
⚠️ Safety tips:
- Hold the extinguisher by the handle only — the discharge horn becomes extremely cold and can cause frost burns.
- Always keep a safe exit behind you.
- Use only for Class B (flammable liquids) and electrical fires.
DETAILS
CO₂ Fire Extinguisher Maintenance
CO₂ fire extinguishers need regular care to ensure they remain safe and effective:
- Monthly Check: Make sure the extinguisher is in the correct location, clearly visible, undamaged, and the safety pin is intact. Check that the hose and horn are secure and free from cracks.
- Annual Service: A qualified technician must service every CO₂ extinguisher once a year. This includes weighing the unit, inspecting the valve and hose, and confirming it meets legal standards.
- 10-Year Pressure Test: Unlike other types, CO₂ extinguishers do not require a 5-year extended service. Instead, they must undergo a hydraulic pressure test every 10 years, or be replaced.
Regular servicing ensures compliance with fire regulations and guarantees your extinguisher will perform safely when needed.
